Sunday, January 4th – Humor Writing with Alexander Steele
As Mark Twain says: The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up. Humorous prose writing requires all the hallmarks of good writing plus that X factor: being funny. In this one-hour workshop, Gotham President Alexander Steele will teach you all about the various types of prose humor, as well as comedic techniques to turn your sentences into smiles.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Alexander Steele is the president at Gotham Writers Workshop. He is the editor of the Gotham books , , and (all Bloomsbury USA). He is the author of numerous children’s books, including titles in the Wishbone series (Lyrick Publishing) and the Hardy Boys series (Pocket Books). His plays include One Glorious Afternoon, Lightning and Frenzy, and King of Ragtime, and he scripted the documentary World War II: It Happened in Color.
