About this Event

A portrait of two young artists’ ascent and a prelude to their fame, detailing the artistic and romantic relationship between Patti Smith and Robert Mappelthorpe through the late sixies and seventies, this National Book Award-winning memoir has been hailed as both “a touching tale of love and devotion” (Lisa Ko, author of The Leavers) and "a vivid portrayal of a bygone New York that could support a countercultural artistic firmament."
