Join us for a special, limited release of Doni Langlois' ever-popular Gossip Columns!!
A LIMITED RELEASE of Doni's Gossip Columns will become available Friday, March 28th at 10 a.m. in the gallery & in our online gallery!On Saturday, March 29th, Doni will be in the gallery hosting a special VIP event with refreshments for registered attendees to include a demonstration by the artist, Q&A session about her newest collection & raffle giveaway of a single bird Gossip Column to a registered attendee (must be registered and present to win).
ABOUT THE GOSSIPS -Gossip Columns are birds that know all about the goings on in the neighborhood! And they’re talking about it with each other! Doni hand builds these, sculpting the faces and feathers from clay. The birds are permanently mounted in sugar molds. Each sugar mold has holes that are a slightly different size from other molds - which means each set of birds has to have their own template for the body part that mounts into the cone shaped mold. Once a set of birds is created- they are glazed with a matte underglaze to create a narrative of gossipy birds. A black oxide is washed on to accentuate the details. Some are just flying in and have their tail feathers out!
