Gorg-O-Mish returns early Sunday with a pairing that brings together two distinct voices from within Vancouver’s underground.
Briser G has grown into one of the city’s most recognisable figures in the minimal realm. Born in Tequila, Jalisco, he has spent the past decade refining a sound that is patient, hypnotic and unmistakably his own. His sets draw from the deeper European lineage while carrying the weight and pulse of Vancouver’s late-night rooms. Beyond his work as a DJ, Briser has played a formative role in shaping the local landscape through Project Under G, the event series he founded to introduce forward-thinking artists and cultivate a community around the subtler shades of house and techno. His reach extends beyond the city as well. As a resident on rts.fm, he brings his perspective to an international audience, offering long-form sessions that reflect both his precision and his sense of narrative. Everything he does carries the feeling of someone deeply invested in the evolution of the sound.
Thomas Workshop brings a different history into the booth, one grounded in a lifelong relationship with music. Surrounded by jazz and folk from an early age, and later touring as a vocalist, writer and producer with Lazy Syrup Orchestra, he approaches the dancefloor with a warm and expansive sensibility. Through his work with Soul Hop Productions, he has helped build spaces in Vancouver that prioritise long-form sets and fluid movement, creating room for the kind of listening that unfolds slowly and with intention. His selections weave together house, breakbeats and melodic textures in a way that feels open and unhurried, shaped by a wide range of influences and a deep curiosity for sound.
