· Thursday, April 10 – Gopher Tortoise Walk at George LeStrange Preserve (11:00am-1:00pm) - Gopher Tortoise Day raises awareness about these gentle, long-lived reptiles and Florida’s only native tortoise. As a keystone species, gopher tortoises play a crucial role in the ecosystem. We will observe tortoises and their burrows, learning why protecting this threatened species and its habitat is vital for the environment. Join us in appreciating the gopher tortoise and discovering how its conservation benefits the broader ecosystem.

ERD Guided Nature Program hikes are FREE, reservations are required, and space is limited. GNP season runs from October through June.
