R. REBEIRO
Rohan "R." Rebeiro is an experimental musician whose work explores the boundaries of percussion and the potential of music as language. Typified by dynamic and cathartic expressions of sound, Rebeiro’s work is rooted in deep listening (both to instrument and space), and is highly reminiscent of the solemnity and purification of historical ceremony and ritual.
When not composing and performing remarkable sound work under the R. Rebeiro moniker, Rohan co-directs Naarm's iconic sonic arts organisation Liquid Architecture; runs the experimental music platform Omniversal Hum; and forms one-third of revered post-punk / industrial trio, MY DISCO.
JOSTEN MYBURGH (WA) & JULES REIDY (BER)
Prolific, thoughtful and increasingly hard-to-categorise luminaries of their respective scenes, Goolugatup Sounds is proud to welcome Josten Myburgh (saxophone) and Jules Reidy (guitar) to the courtyard for their first-ever live collaboration. Expect bold improvisations, richly interwoven electronics, and a preternatural attention to shared sonic space: likely to surprise, but sure to result in something singular, deep, not soon forgotten.
Josten Myburgh is a composer, improviser, saxophonist and organiser based on Whadjuk Noongar boodja. Their music interfaces with the traditions of location sound recording, extended just intonation, improvisation and experimental composition - characterised by an attention to silence, space, place, melody & tuning.
Jules Reidy works across song cycles and electro-acoustic composition for solo performance, ensembles and spaces. Born in Australia and currently based in Berlin, their music explores devotional love, transcendence, and ego death - invoking states of uncanniness, dissociation, imagination, and void.
PATIENCE
Patience is the deejay moniker of Boorloo's Tamara Marrington - meanwhile a Goolugatup-based painter, past exhibiting artist, and at all times a music lover, combing crates and airwaves for glimmering musical gems. She has curated mixes for the likes of Skylab Radio, and brought her eclectic, dream-like sets to diverse spaces including the cosy (Pig Melon), the clubby (Si Paradiso) and the expansive (Hopkins Creek festival, Taungurung Country).
