Celebrate the human condition with local performers through an evening of acoustic music, literary arts, live storytelling, and comedy on the patio of Lawn Gnome Publishing every Tuesday at 7pm.
Today’s programs at Lawn Gnome Publishing are the result of years of seeking talented new voices and promoting strong musical and literary events. We have hosted hundreds of open mics , comedy showcases and music concerts in our years in Arizona.
Our mission is to provide a space for local writers, artists, performers, etc. to explore and perfect their own craft.
Our commitment is community. We welcome persons of any and all genders, sexuality, ethnicity, ability, ages, etc. As writers and literary critics, we value freedom of speech and thus do not limit, moderate or otherwise censor any content, and so there is a blanket trigger warning for all events. However, we strive to create a constructive atmosphere of equality, sensitivity, and progress, one that encourages discussion and actively opposes marginalization of any persons or group. Our goal isn’t tolerance of diversity, but its empowerment and alliance.
Performers interested in performing must send an email to [email protected] with "GOODNIGHT PHOENIX' in the subject line. We send you a confirmation email with expectations to help you prepare. We will provide two microphones and a PA. In order to comply with existing neighborhood noise ordinances and in general respect for our residential neighbors, we will not be allowing musicians to plug in amplifiers, keyboards, synthesizers, or auxiliary music players. This show is aimed to celebrate grassroots vaudeville + street performances such as singer-songwriters, poets, comedians, storytellers, ventriloquists, and performance artists. Goodnight Phoenix will not be showcasing karaoke, singing or rapping over prerecorded music, or complex band set-ups. We will curate up to 12 performers for a 6 minute performance. Performers may play any instrument that could be mic'd into our PA.
COVID-19 - Due to our concern for the safety of our community, all attendees MUST wear a face mask. Ticket holders will be able to secure seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Occupancy is set at 50 attendees at this time. Please do not buy a ticket or attend the event if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell; traveled internationally within the last 14 days; traveled to a highly impacted area within the United States of America in the last 14 days; been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of the Coronavirus/COVID-19; have been diagnosed with Coronavirus/Covid-19 and not yet cleared as non contagious by state or local public health authorities.
Purchase of a ticket and attending Goodnight Phoenix acknowledges the contagious nature of COVID-19, and is aware of the preventative measures the venue has planned to reduce the spread of COVID-19. By purchase of a ticket or attending Goodnight Phoenix, you release and agree to hold Goodnight Phoenix and Lawn Gnome Publishing harmless from, and waive on behalf of self, heirs, and any personal representatives any and all causes of action, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses and compensation for damage.

Our venue is Lawn Gnome Publishing, a bookstore located at 912 N 5th St in the historic downtown Phoenix neighborhood, Roosevelt Row.
