Adapted from the well-known novel by Michelle Magorian, the action follows an evacuee, William, as he leaves his home in London and arrives in the idyllic English countryside.
This moving play explores the remarkable and moving friendship that occurs between William and an elderly recluse. All seems perfect, until William is suddenly summoned back to London by his mother, with devastating consequences.
