About this Event
As a Veteran owned, minority female outreach organization, It's Already Done Ministries a Non Profit, 501(C)3, our primary mission is serving Aging out Foster Care Young Adults, also known as TAY (Transition Aged Youth) a wellness hub where young adults (ages 16-24) can gain skills in life, work and learn leadership to enhance their transition into adulthood. We are securing a Transition Home in this year, to have a safe place for them to thrive. Throughout the year, IAD Ministries collects monetary donations as well as NEW/UNUSED hoodies for the Aging-Out Foster Care young adults. On the last Saturday in July, our organization holds a large event called “Goodies 4 UR Hoodies”. This event is held to not only bring together ALL of the donations from our many donation locations but to also acquaint the community with some of the young adults, families, and/or schools that they are supporting.
Everything from bounce houses and water slides to petting zoos and balloon artists. There is also live music, burgers and hotdogs, food trucks and many other vendors. As an added bonus, we invite the local Slingshot cars and Motorcycle clubs. WE ARE ASKING FOR YOUR SUPPORT to make this and many other events like it a success. All monetary donations received will go towards the purchase and upkeep of our Aging-Out Foster Care Transition Home as well as to support driver’s license training, trades, financial literacy and other programs that are made available to our young adults. The Transition Home allows young men and women a safe place to stay while they learn the additional skills needed for adulthood.
The hoodies that are collected will be handed out in several different ways. Preferably directly to the young adults but in most cases we will go through the schools, case workers, guardians, etc. in order to get them delivered.
The Nonprofit 2nd Annual Goodies 4 UR Hoodies is a community event hosted by It's Already Done Ministries, for all residents of San Antonio and surrounding cities. Come out and find out what services these local nonprofits and businesses have to offer!
