An ounce of hip hop, a dash of polka, and some square dance.Good Vibes Explosion was conceived and created by clarinet wizard David Krakauer and multi-instrumentalist/producer Kathleen Tagg. The band's influences are global, but the sound they create is uniquely their own. Familiar dance forms like Polka or Square Dance have never sounded like this with hand drumming, electronic beats, positive lyrics, and deep grooves.
Krakauer’s klezmer-influenced clarinet leads the way along with Tagg’s quirky keys, accordion, electronics, electric cello and samples; Martin Shamoonpour’s high-energy rhythm on percussion, jaw harp and flutes; Jerome Harris’ driving bass lines and vocals; rapper and singer Sarah MK’s evocative vocals in Québécois French and English; and Yoshie Fruchter’s wailing oud and electric guitar plus electronic beats.
