About this Event
Good Trouble Quilts - Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Congressman John Lewis is a special exhibit that will premeir at the 2022 Atlanta Quilt Festival. It will feature approximatley 25 original quilts created by predominantly African American quiltmakers especially for this exhibit. The creativity and the scope of the exhibit will amaze you. The exhibit will be housed in the gallery of the Southwest Arts Center from August 7th - September 2d. The exhibit is expected to travel to other venues after it closes at the Atlanta Quilt Festival. While at the Festival, you may also view the widely acclaimed Lives Taken, Lives Remembered exhibit which documents lynchings that took place in Atlanta, GA. Of course, the Atlanta Quilt Festival juried exhibit will also be available for your viewing pleasure. All three exhibits are free and open to the public, but donations are welcome.
