Spend an uplifting evening with Samin Nosrat as she discusses her new book, GOOD THINGS, on stage with author Carmen Maria Machado. Samin will share stories around the inspiration for the cookbook, her development and selection of the recipes, and the culinary rituals she shares with close friends. In an evening about creativity and connection, Samin will remind us how cooking can not only nourish our bodies but also satiate our desire for kinship and community.
Samin Nosrat is a cook, teacher, and author of the James Beard Award-winning #1 New York Times bestseller Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. She was named one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World and Chef of the Year by Eater. She is the co-host of the Home Cooking podcast, a former Eat columnist at The New York Times Magazine, and the host of the Netflix original documentary series based on her book Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. She lives in Oakland, California.
Carmen Maria Machado is the author of the bestselling memoir In the Dream House and the award-winning short story collection Her Body and Other Parties. She has been a finalist for the National Book Award and the winner of numerous prizes, including the National Book Critics Circle's John Leonard Prize. She is a Visiting Associate Professor of fiction for the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
