About this Event
Help first-generation college students prepare for their upcoming year at university! Many teens in our community are the first generation in their families to head to college, and we would love to show them our support by providing some "college essentials" kits.
Join your neighbors on Saturday, May 4th from 10 am-12 pm at The Empty Corner to pack dorm supply kits to be distributed to graduating teens in District 214. We need YOUR help to pack some more kits for our neighbors in need!! Join us for a fun morning of working together to serve our community, we can't wait to see you there!

The Good Neighbors network is working with AVID for this event. AVID is a national program whose mission is to "close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society". AVID instructional methodologies focus on Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading and are utilized by teachers across our building.
At the Good Neighbors Network, we believe in the transformative power of collective action, we work to transcend barriers and forge meaningful connections within the community.
