Explore the fundamentals of assemblage art, from simple clay sculpting and paint layering techniques, as you craft your unique talisman. Your wand will serve as a beacon of positivity, guiding you towards peace, health, wealth, harmony, and love. Unleash your creativity as you transform a doll's head into a unique wand.
Time: The workshop starts at 10 am, and ends at 5pm. You will have an hour lunch to try out a downtown Frederick restaurant.
Supplies provided for you:
Doll head & stick- you can bring your own doll head and I will do my best to help you make it work. If it proves too challenging to attach your doll head to your stick, I will suggest you use the doll head provided.
Aves Apoxy clay
Sari Ribbons, assorted colors
Some iridescent paints
Adhesives
Craft Heat Gun
Wire, in assorted colors and gauges
Paints, a couple to compliment what paints you bring
Various other tools to use in making your wand
Materials list (you bring these items):
Basic tool box
Including, but not limited to scissors, water cup, apron, wire cutters
Paint brushes up to 1/2" plus tiny detail sizes
A bristle brush, will be used for dry brushing
String, twine, ribbon, torn strips of fabric, in colors you would like to work with, you don’t need to go overboard because I'll have some to share
Charms, buttons, found objects, jewelry bits and pieces, bones and found objects that mean something to you
Floss, only one color needed
Large eye needle to use with floss
Small amount of paints: I prefer Golden Fluid Acrylics in bottles or tubes
Titanium White
Quinacridone Crimson
Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold
Phthalo Blue Hue
Other paint colors you fancy
