Henry recounts his trials from being moved to the Warsaw ghetto at 15, and soon learns the black market. He escapes Treblinka twice, jumps from the train on his third assignment, joins the resistance, and continues to “pass for white” throughout the war. He often denies his Jewish heritage and must make terrorizing moral choices in order to stay alive.
At World War II’s end, now "Henry," moves to the United States thanks to a distant cousin willing to sponsor him, where he creates a new life and raises a family. Throughout his stories, he remains hopeful and delivers a positive message.
