Good Hair Day 2021 on pian taas täällä!Good Hair Day:n tavoitteena on edistää afrosuomalaisen yhteisön ja yksilöiden kokonaisvaltaista hyvinvointia. GHD-tapahtuman pääpainona toimii afrohiusten juhlistaminen, tiedon jakaminen, verkostoinnin tukeminen sekä afrosuomalaisen yhteisön voimaantuminen positiivisen representaation kautta.
Tänä vuonna järjestetään jo kuudes Good Hair Day - tapahtuma teemalla TOIVO, sunnuntaina 29.8. Tiivistämöllä Helsingin Suvilahdessa.
Tapahtuma tullaan myös tänäkin vuonna live streamaamaan, joten jos et pääse paikan päälle, pystyt seuraamaan ohjelmaa omalta kotisohvalta! GHD-kollektiivi seuraa poikkeustilan vaikutusta tapahtuman järjestelyihin ja tiedottaa niistä lisää lähempänä tapahtumaa.
Good Hair Day:n toiminta tähtää purkamaan negatiivisia stereotypioita mustuudesta sekä valtaväestön, että oman yhteisön sisällä. Pyrkimyksenä on myös laajentaa kohderyhmän sosiaalisia suhteita ja yhteenkuuluvuuden tunnetta positiivisen representaation avulla. Synergialla ja avoimella dialogilla on suuri merkitys tulevaisuuden toiveikkuutta ajatellen.
Good Hair Day luo afrosuomalaisille turvallisemman tilan keskustella afrosuomalaisuudesta henkilökohtaisella, yhteiskunnallisella ja poliittisella tasolla sekä toimia kohtaamispaikkana kaikille afrohiusten hoidosta kiinnostuneille. Tavoitteena on luoda päiväksi tila, jossa afrosuomalaiset ovat keskiössä sekä yleisönä, että lavalla.

Good Hair Day 2021 is soon here again!
Good Hair Day (GHD) aims to work towards the wholesome well-being of the AfroFinnish community and its individuals. The GHD-event centers around the celebration of afro hair, knowledge sharing, supporting the formation of networks and empowering the AfroFinnish community through positive representation.
This years event is the 6th annual Good Hair Day event with the theme of HOPE and will be held on Sunday, August 29th at Tiivistämö in Suvilahti, Helsinki.
Like last year, this year's event will be live streamed! So if you can not make it to Helsinki physically, you can still follow the event from your home! The GHD collective is following the guidelines for organizing events during the pandemic and will keep you informed of the arrangements closer to the event.
Good Hair Day’s mission is to dismantle the negative stereotypes on blackness in both surrounding and within the community. GHD strives to broaden the target group’s social relationships and inclusivity with the help of positive representation. When looking to the future, synergy and open dialogue are significant in our hope for the future.
GHD creates a safer space for AfroFinns to discuss afro hair on a personal, societal and political level, as well as serves as a meeting point for all those interested in afro hair care. The aim is to create a space for one day, where AfroFinns are centered in the audience as well as on stage.
