This service is filled with music and Bible readings that remind us of the sacrifice that Jesus made for humanity on the cross. As the sun sets and the candles are snuffed out with each reading, the room gets darker to symbolize what the disciples were experiencing as they lost hope as they watched Jesus be tortured and die. The service concludes with a time of silence to meditate on Jesus being buried in tomb.We come back together on Easter Sunday in jubilation since the stone has been rolled away to show that death has been defeated, and Jesus is risen!
