Our lovely tea friend and owner of The Tea Bar, Stephanie, is soon leaving town... BUT she has agreed to grace us with one last class to share her expertise before she goes!Gong Fu Cha is a traditional Chinese practice of micro brewing loose leaf tea multiple times in a small vessel until the tea flavor is exhausted. This process allows for the drinker to experience an evolution in flavor as the concentration levels change within the tea. Brewing the same tea in short bursts over and over becomes a relaxing, meditative process perfect for mindfulness exercise and developing your palate.
In this two-hour class, you will learn the full brewing process for Chinese red tea using gaiwan, a traditional Chinese brewing vessel. Your ticket includes an amazing full gong fu cha beginner brewing kit (which you will use during class), tea to enjoy, and our delicious butter cookies.
Gong fu cha kit includes: a gaiwan, gong dao bei, bamboo teaboard, ceramic tea strainer, and a teacup.
