Chicago Scots the first and oldest non-profit organization in Illinois is celebrating Scotland’s greatest contribution to the world of sports – golf! – when the 23rd Annual Kilted Classic Golf Tournament returns to Cantigny Golf Club on Thursday September 26. The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 11:00am. Proceeds benefit Chicago Scots principal charity Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care.
Roscoe Company is the Presenting Sponsor of this annual tournament and the Roscoe Massed Putt at this very Scottish tournament. All players ranging from novice to advanced are invited to join. All golfers have the opportunity to win a bottle of whisky on every hole a golf trip to Scotland with airfare for two or a custom club fitting sponsored by Roscoe president Jim Buik. The tournament features skill competitions with the Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin and fun challenges including the Nessie Challenge or Beat the Scot against Gus Noble OBE Chicago Scots’ President. Bagpipes Highland Dancing and Scottish trivia complete the Scottish fanfare.
The annual Kilted Classic is one of many events the Chicago Scots host annually to help raise funds for their principal charity Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care as well as raise cultural awareness and develop relationships across sectors in both Scotland and North America.
