About this Event
Kintsugi Bowl
Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver or platinum and embracing its imperfection and resilience.
Who we are: This interactive and experiential session is being lead by Kimberley Gunning, MSW, RSW, Reiki Master, 200 hour Yoga Teacher and owner of Kaleidoscope Wellness Niagara
What to Expect:
Participants will be led through the hands on practice of breaking a bowl and then mending the cracks with gold or silver. Cultivating mindfulness and acceptance as you engage in the process and complete a unique and meaningful work of art.
This workshop will begin with a brief philosophy behind the art of Kintsugi. You'll then be guided through a gentle, mindful meditation to centre your mind and open your heart, before learning to repair a ceramic bowl with golden seams. Each piece becomes a reflection of patience, presence and the luminious beauty found in imperfection.
It is designed to be a therapeutic and creative experience. It will encourage you to engage in the meditative process, slow down and be present in the moment. Focus on the here and now and accept imperfections as part of life’s journey. Leave with a one of a kind creation that tells your story.
Workshop Includes: All the necessary materials to create your own kintsugi bowl. Bowl is included.
Cost: $53
