Taking inspiration from Pink Floyd, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Hawkwind and Tangerine Dream, Golden Sunbird creates soundscapes that explore the parallels between the unknowns of space and the depths of the human subconscious. Q.E. So this is Q.E., the musical fever dream of a Jacky Collyer from nipaluna/Hobart. Q.E. makes music the way some people make sense of a senseless world - by embracing the beautiful mess of it all. Take Radiohead's existential dread, marry it to Aphex Twin's digital hallucinations, and let it all simmer in the jazz-soaked influence of Billie and Ella, and somehow this impossible recipe produces something that crawls into the deep places of your brain where you keep the thoughts you don't tell your psych about. When Q.E. takes the stage with Damien Kingston (guitar), Hamish Houston (bass), and Tom Robb (drums), strange things happen. The shadows lean in closer to listen. The walls breathe. The ceiling lowers. Everyone leaves a little changed.
