Last year while compassionate protesters outside the racecourse on the Golden Slipper Race Day warning racegoers about the cruelty of horse racing, 4yo Tintookie shattered her front leg on the track and was subsequently killed.Deaths on the racetrack are not accidents. They happen because the horses are pushed beyond their limits and raced far too young and excessively for their bodies to withstand. Tintookie had been raced since she was two years old.
This year we gather again in her memory, and to speak up for all the horses who are forced to risk their lives on the racecourse.
