A deckhand and a dishwasher, a shipwright and house carpenter, a street musician and cubicle dweller, Trapper Haskins has earned his keep in myriad ways since leaving school and his hometown of Memphis more than twenty years ago. His writing has appeared in Sports Illustrated, WoodenBoat, and American Songwriter. He and his family currently live in Thompson’s Station, Tennessee, where he owns and operates a custom woodworking business. Thomas has always described his music as blues-based Americana. He plays songs from the heart about the experiences along his journey. After recording Muscle Shoals in 2022, the great guitarist Will McFarlane described it as poetry with music wrapped around it. You’ll often hear Thomas say beautiful melodies telling me terrible things.
