Come celebrate PARK(ing) Day Nashville participants and the winners of the Golden Cone Awards under the Housing as a Public Right theme.
About this Event

PARK(ing) Day is a global event that calls attention to the need for more urban open space, generating critical debate around how it is created and allocated. PARK(ing) Day Nashville 2022 (September 16th) is focusing on Housing as a Public Right. All pop-up parklet installations interpreted a prompt set by local housing and homelessness experts. We also recruited experts to visit the parklet installations on PARK(ing) Day and judge them based on the Metro Nashville Affordable Housing Taskforce Guiding Principles: Racial Equity, Innovation, Connectivity + Accessibility, and Resilience.

There will be a winner in each category as well as a Best Overall and of course, the Ronald E. Yearwood Friend of Public Space Award.

For PARK(ing) Day Nashville 2021, the Best Overall Winner was Middle Tennessee State University's Interior Design department, and the Friend of Public Space Award went to Councilmember Sean Parker.
