Join us for a movie night at uOttawa presented by the Goethe-Institut where we'll dive into the captivating world of rock music in former East Germany.
The film is part of the series "Against it! - Indignation, protest and resistance in film". The films of this series are presented within the framework of Goethe-Cinema, a monthly thematic film series highlighting films from Germany, presented by the Goethe-Institut Ottawa at the University of Ottawa.

As a documentary “rock report” about the underground music scene in the GDR, flüstern & SCHREIEN provides insights into the everyday lives of young bands of the 1980s such as “Silly,” “Sandow,” and “Feeling B.” Enriched with statements from fans and young people in a wide variety of circumstances, the music film reflects the protests, desires, and hopes of a subculture that uses the medium of music to express its criticism of the system.
