Kilborne DIY Skatepark is an ongoing initiative by The Charlotte Skate Foundation (CSF) to provide skaters in Charlotte a new home in the wake of Eastland DIY’s demolition in 2022. This new park has been open for nearly a year now on a pair of repurposed tennis courts inside of Kilborne park, only 5 minutes away from the former Eastland site. CSF has worked with Charlotte Mecklenburg Parks and Recreation to establish terms and conditions that will allow this DIY to continue to exist legally and permanently, the first of its kind in Charlotte. Just like many other DIY skateparks, this park is funded by the very community that uses it. To maintain payments for the liability insurance and fund materials needed to maintain and expand the park, donations from the community continue to be absolutely essential. After great success from last years fundraiser, Super Abari Game Bar has again partnered with Black Sheep Skate Shop to organize another raffle for the sole purpose of generating funds for this very special project for the Charlotte skate community. ALL FUNDS RAISED FROM RAFFLE TICKET SALES WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY TO CSF.
This raffle will conclude on Sunday June 16th with a pre-party for this year's Go Skate Day featuring matinee performances by local bands Mindvac and Gluetrap, food from King Of Fire Pizza, tons of killer drink specials, and celebration of skate culture in Charlotte and beyond!
