About the Artists:

Tania Watt:
Tania Watt is a singer/songwriter based in Lansing, MI. She has been active in the local music scene since late 2008, however, she has been singing and writing songs for most of her life.
Her music can best be described as heartfelt, lyrics-driven, insightful, and soulful, characterized by enchanting vocals, simple strums, and intricate finger-picking on the guitar and sometimes ukulele. Authentic and vulnerable to the core, her songs are both deeply personal, yet highly relatable, telling stories about life, love, and loss that are reminiscent of conversations with an old friend. Filled with silver linings and lessons learned, her songs are ultimately a life-long story of trials, perseverance, hope, healing, faith, and change.
Tania has also supported other artists and cultivated community around the local music scene in a variety of ways throughout her career. She was the founder of the Lansing-Area Songwriter's Group, which was active from 2015-2020. Tania also hosted the Music Open Mic at Blue Owl Coffee in REO Town Lansing from its inception in August 2017 through December 2019, and also served as the Booking Manager for live music at their REO Town and East Lansing locations. Tania has also hosted various other pop-up open mics in the Lansing area at venues such as Elderly Instruments and The Brew Cafe.
Tania’s latest venture, The Good Neighbor Concert Series, seeks to bring people together for the purposes of promoting individual enrichment and healing, an increased sense of neighborliness and connection with the broader community, investment in the local, regional, and statewide musical and artistic community, investment in local charitable organizations, support for local businesses, and improved overall health of the Greater-Lansing region. The series also seeks to elevate voices that would otherwise not, or seldom be heard in existing performance spaces (e.g., emerging artists, women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA, various faith perspectives, and other minority/marginalized populations).

Darcy Wilkin:
Darcy Wilkin grew up surrounded by music, attending bluegrass festivals and coffee house concerts with her family. Her house was a regular stopover for touring musicians, where her folks would host jam sessions and parties where Darcy stayed up way too late, absorbing the music around her. She considers this unique upbringing a gift, as it led to her own musical path. She co-founded the Corn Fed Girls in 1997 and is an active solo performer. She released her debut solo album, Bristol, produced by Joe Newberry, in 2020.

The Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence:
MCEDSV is dedicated to the empowerment of all the state’s survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Their mission is to develop and promote comprehensive efforts aimed at eliminating all forms of domestic and sexual violence, including human trafficking, in Michigan.
MCEDSV is Michigan’s catalyst for creating empowered and transformed individuals, communities, and societies committed to building a lasting legacy of equality, peace and social justice, where domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking no longer exists.
MCEDSV Services:
- Advocacy: We advocate for policies that protect and support a network of over 70 domestic, sexual, and trafficking violence programs across the state.
- Education: We provide training and resources to professionals and the public to raise awareness, protect survivors, and prevent violence.
- Support: We offer direct support to survivors through our 24/7 Domestic and Sexual Violence Hotlines, Survivor Law Clinic, and Survivor Cents, a low-barrier loan program offered in partnership with Astera Credit Union.
MCEDSV Commitment to Work that is Survivor-Centered, Intersectional, and Trauma-Informed:
MCEDSV believes that all oppression is interconnected and it is essential that the Coalition work to end all forms of sexism, racism, homophobia, ableism or other systemic othering that effects survivors of violence. MCEDSV also acknowledges that survivors are complex and often have deep, interconnected identities, & that failure to recognize this fact has historically interfered with the ability of victims to receive services and seek healing. MCEDSV further states that the intersection of racism and sexism for victims of violence has had a unique impact on the movement to end violence and victims of violence. Therefore, to honor all victims, MCEDSV will insure that from now on all of its work will be survivor and person centered, intersectional and trauma informed. MCEDSV deliberately choses an intersectional lens to ensure that no victim has to choose which part of their identity to honor. MCEDSV is committed to these three core tenets and will work to insure representation is reflected in all staffing and policies from now on.

About The Good Neighbor Concert Series:
The mission of The Good Neighbor Concert Series is to deliberately invest in the people of the Greater-Lansing area (and beyond), inspire those people to invest in others, and create positive ripple effects that extend farther than we could ever imagine.
This series aims to elevate voices that would otherwise not, or seldom be heard in existing performance spaces (e.g., emerging artists, women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA, various faith perspectives, and other minority/marginalized populations).
Season 1 (2024-2025) will focus specifically on highlighting Michigan’s fantastic roster of female singer/songwriters, and will draw from a combination of local talent and artists from all around the state.
The series takes place at Stage One at Sycamore Creek Eastwood (https://www.facebook.com/stageonemi). It will occur roughly once a month, and be held on select Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
Every event will partner with local food-based startup businesses to provide a variety of concession items for purchase at the event in the time between when the doors open and when the music begins.
Each event will also feature a different nonprofit organization, which will receive a minimum of 10% of the proceeds from both ticket sales and concessions. The nonprofit partner organizations will also have the opportunity to table at the event so that patrons can learn more, get involved, and/or donate additional funds directly if desired.
