gmtc sessions #2: maria de victoria + marcus civin + jenny wu
'gmtc sessions' were conceived as a series of experiments in writing about performance and in the performance of writing. on various days between september 4 and october 25, pairings of artists and critics will convene at 210 canal st, room 310, to, respectively, rehearse and respond to a work-in-progress.
the second 'gmtc session' on october 4th at 3:00 - 4:30 pm will feature maria de victoria and marcus civin.

maria de victoria is a performance artist and co-founded artists & mothers in 2024. she was born in 1980 in lima, peru, and immigrated to miami in the early ’90s. she currently lives and works in new york city.
marcus civin writes frequently about art and interviews artists for publications including artreview, boston art review, bomb, and sculpture.
jenny wu is a critic, essayist, and associate editor of artreview.
* documentation of the events – critics’ texts and photographs by – will live on in the form of a limited-edition chapbook-length anthology, also titled ‘the gmtc sessions’, forthcoming in winter/spring 2026.
