March 11th, a day forever etched in our hearts and minds. As families have laid their loved ones to rest and are still trying to accept the unacceptable our community is trying to adapt. I watched so many of you just be present to confront the difficult reality of loss, organize fund raisers, undertake the necessary task of “gathering around” and offering yourself for whatever was needed. That’s what matters and it’s part of the reason we live where we do.
The darkness of that day does not need to define our community, but the need to support others can carry on everyday. That progress through helping others, is part of the outstretched arms of love encircling our community, every day.
On Saturday, June 1st, opening ceremony is at 11:00 a.m. and at 2:00 p.m. we are inviting everyone to gather hand in hand down Liberty Street, stretching across Rushville to remind the families, our school district and our local 1st responders that we are still here and we are not letting go.
There are text/touch gloves currently available for purchase to wear that day at The Lipsticked Pig for $12 or you can purchase that day at the event.
Please share and invite family, friends and all the surrounding communities that wrapped us in their arms that day.
All proceeds will go to our local 1st Responders Foundation and they will apply those proceeds to Scholarships for Rushville/Industry school.
All festivities will be at the Rushville Downtown Square.
