P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Gloria J. Browne-Marshall for a discussion of her newest book, : a record of dissident movements in the U.S. and the stories of their key players, ranging from Wahunsenacock's leadership of the Algonquians against early American colonialism to the late David Buckel's self-immolation in 2018 as a response against the continued use of fossil fuels.
Gloria will be joined in coversation by Kavita Das, author of Craft and Conscience. After the conversation and audience Q&A, Gloria will also sign copies of .

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
is a writer, educator, legal advocate, and playwright. She is a professor of Constitutional Law and Africana Studies at John Jay College (CUNY) was a Resident Fellow at the Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School, as well as a Visiting Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School. She won the 2024 American Bar Association Silver Gavel Award. Her books include , , and .
ABOUT THE MODERATOR
taught nonfiction writing at the New School and Catapult and has written about social issues for ten years. Previously, she worked in the social change sector for fifteen years, addressing issues ranging from community and housing inequities to public health disparities and racial injustice.
