About this Event
Each fall, Globemed has the privilege to host our annual Gala event at the George Washington University. Every year we center the event around a Global Public Health theme, that serves to encompass the topics we care about as a Global Public Health Organization partnered with an International Organization Set Her Free, located in Kampala Uganda. This year (Fall 2024), our theme is Health in Times of Conflict.
This exciting event consists of an astounding panel of accomplished speakers from the local D.C. area. Often consisting of GW and Globemed alumni, GW faculty, and other professionals including Doctors, Lawyers, Public Health Practitioners, Leaders in the non-governmental and governmental sectors of Public Health etc. Gala is scheduled for December 7th, 2024 from 6:30-9:30pm at the Elliot City View Room located on the 7th floor of the Elliot School of International Affairs. Dinner and refreshments will be provided. The dress code is formal attire.
OUR PARTNER: SET HER FREE Set Her Free provides girls and women with the education, vocational training, and rehabilitative services necessary to lead self-determined lives. The program not only provides a temporary residence, but also offers formal education, technical training, counseling, medical care, mentoring, and resettlement opportunities; services geared toward giving young women the necessary tools for a healthy, stable, and independent future.
