The European Convention on Human Rights at 75: Past milestones and current challenges
About the event
Described by the European Court of Human Rights as a “constitutional instrument of European public order”, the European Convention on Human Rights celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. Against the background of an observed rise in authoritarian politics as well as environmental and technological developments that escape traditional methods of control, judge Arnardóttir will discuss some milestones in Convention history and reflect on how well it is positioned to respond to current challenges.
This event will take place in the Playfair Library and will be followed by a drinks reception.
