About this Event

Join sustainable travel author and global nomad Priyanka Surio and LA-based nonprofit Intersectional Environmentalist for a Global Citizen Workshop where you'll explore your connection to people, places, and planet.

This event will include a fireside chat with Priyanka to include her remarkable journey to over 65 countries and all 50 states while adopting sustainable practices for future travels.

About the participants:

Priyanka Surio, a multicultural woman from a small town in Florida, used to dream of traveling the world. As a young girl, she would write stories about children on adventures and decided she wanted to be an author when she grew up. Present day finds Priyanka as a published author and speaker on sustainable travel, having visited over 65 countries and all 50 states. For nearly four years, she’s adopted travel as a lifestyle, identifying as a sustainable nomad. Beyond her travels, Priyanka continues to work at the intersection of climate and health, with a career spanning government, nonprofits, venture capital, big tech (Google), and teaching graduate courses at George Washington University.
Intersectional Environmentalist, an LA-based nonprofit, envisions a world where the communities and voices most impacted by environmental injustice have the power, resources, and platforms to lead their communities into full liberation. Grounded in their mission to increase awareness and access to education about intersectional environmentalism and drive support toward grassroots environmental justice efforts, they build programs and partnerships that seek to empower communities that are far too often overlooked in the environmental sector. In doing so, they aim to celebrate the incredible legacies of diverse people in the environmental justice movement, empower a new generation of environmentalists and reshape the future of environmentalism to one that is rooted in equity and inclusion.
