About this Event

Glimpses of the Transpersonal:

Connecting to a Wider Sense of Self Through Authentic Movement

"Whatever you experience outside of the body, in a dream for example, is not experienced unless you take it into the body, because the body means the here and now." C.G. Jung

"All we know empirically is that processes of the body and processes of the mind happen together in some way which is mysterious to us. It is due to our most lamentable mind that we cannot think of body and mind as one and the same thing; probably they are one thing, but we are unable to think it." C. G. Jung

In Authentic Movement we are moved from within rather than from the intentional mind. From this place, which Jung called the psychoid, we can experience body, mind and soul as one. Authentic Movement can be seen as a form of Active Imagination that allows movement to bring forth experiences of archetypal aspects of the self.

This workshop will have both theoretical and experiential components. We will discuss the relationship between trauma states and awareness states. Participants will be invited to enter a relaxed, non-thinking state that will support transpersonal experiences and deeper states of non-dual awareness.

We will begin with a short guided meditation and then practice Authentic Movement. Afterward, each participant will express the experience in a drawing. Finally, participants will be invited to speak about their experiences. The workshop leaders, Andréa and Frauke, will hold the space as witnesses using their resonant body-minds.

This process of opening to the not knowing and to the unknown fosters clarity of body, heart and Self wisdom, and it offers new ways of being seen and of seeing oneself.

This workshop will offer qualifying participants 6 CEU’s.

Learning Objectives:

 • Differentiate between trauma states and awareness states.
 • Identify ways in which the body and psyche interact, and understand how that interaction affects therapeutic practice.
 • Discern between different states of contraction and the expansive qualities of Transpersonal states of open awareness.
 • Enter a more relaxed and regulated state of mind—a presence that facilitates awareness of more psychic layers when sitting with a patient.
 • Understand the Jungian concept of the psychoid and its experience through Authentic Movement.
