About this Event
We are delighted to present our second lecture focusing upon Kenya’s Lake Turkana, one of the world’s most important sites for understanding human evolution. Internationally renowned Turkana Basin Institute brings together scientists, communities, students — all inspired by the visionary legacy of its co-founder Dr. Richard Leakey. Director Dino J. Martins, who received his doctorate from Harvard University, discusses recent discoveries related to climate change, conservation, and health which build upon lessons from the past enhancing our future. Among the research topics covered will be TBI’s significant discovery of the coexistence of human species dwelling 1.5 million years ago around Lake Turkana.
