In Part 1 of this class, students will learn how to combine powdered glass and dried leaves to create a custom sheet of glass. The leaves will be fired into a sheet of glass that will then be cut up and incorporated into a fused glass dish in Part 2 of the class.
Students should bring several pressed flat, dried leaves with stems to class. Leaves can be any color – the glass powder students add will be the final color. Fern, maple, oak, ginkgo, ivy, etc. leaves all work well with this process. Leaves do not need to be a specific color because the color of leave will no longer be visible once the glass is fired, the shape of your leaves will be visible in your finished project.
Part 1 of this class will be held Thursday, September 5, 5:30-8:00 PM and Part 2 will be held Tuesday, September 1, 5:30-8:30 PM
The cost includes both classes
Your creation may take up to 3.5 weeks for firing, you will be notified via email when your project is ready for pick up.
