About this Event
Welcome to Glasgow's Forth & Clyde Canal Engineer Guided Walk as part of Glasgow's Doors Open Days Festival!
You’ll find out about how the Forth & Clyde Canal was shaped by East/West rivalry, global conflict and even the Jacobite uprisings. We’ll explore the engineering of the canal and it’s structures, learning why they were built, how they work and the impact they’ve had on the surrounding communities for the last 250 years.
Meet us at the Hamiltonhill Claypits LNR canal bridge near Garscube Road for a leisurely walk along the canal towpath as far as the Kelvin aqueduct.
Don't miss this opportunity to discover how this much loved canal has shaped the Glasgow that we know today today. See you there!
