About this Event

Autumn, the season of change has arrived. Nature is slowing down and inviting us to do so. It is an excellent time to focus on our health and prepare for the winter months ahead by strengthening our immune system.

We will take a walk through Queen's Park and Nature's Being will show you how to identify a few seasonal plants which can help to boost the immune system. We will collect some and head back to Locavore to make our own remedies using items from our all-organic range.

Participants will be sent a list of plants and recipes after the walk.

Please bring a small-size jar for mixing remedies, and bags or a container for collecting if you can. Children are welcome to come along for free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

Nature's Being is a Glasgow based forager who offers foraging and wellbeing walks, wildlife identification & herbal medicine workshops, forest school and fun outdoors learning sessions: meaningful experiences in nature for all.

Locavore is a social enterprise running several organic supermarkets and a veg box delivery service. We grow food on our land and stock other local growers & ethical producers. In store we have re-fill points, groceries, freshly made coffee and food from our own kitchen. We're striving to build a better future for food.

Getting there:

We will meet at the Main Victoria Road Gate of Queen's Park at 10am. Victoria Road is served by the buses 4, 4A, 5 and 6, plus many others which stop nearby on Pollokshaws Road. Queen's Park station is a short walk from the main gate, and trains run from Glasgow Central Station in the city centre. There is free street parking available on Queen's Drive and Langside Road which border the park.

Please note:

The foraging portion of the workshop will take place outdoors. The route is generally on flat ground and easy to access, but can potentially be slippery so please wear suitable shoes or boots and dress appropriately for the weather.

Some parts of the tour may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. If you have any additional needs please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
