About this Event
The 1916 Rising Centenary Committee (Scotland) in collaboration with Glasgow Trades Council, are delighted to put on another 'Glasgow and the Irish Revolution Walking Tour, as part of this year's May Day programme.
A walk-through Glasgow's East End and Centre to visit sites with particular links to Irish revolutionary history and Glasgow connections. Led by members of the 1916 Rising Centenary Committee (Scotland) Stephen Coyle and Keith Stoddart. Starting from Moore Street at the former Meat Market Arch (off Gallowgate), we'll walk via Glasgow Green through sites of arms caches, drilling grounds, arrests and shootouts!
The walking tour will finish at the old Duke Street J*il.
