Join Panopticon Gallery for the opening reception of "Glacier: Bradford Washburn’s Mountain Photography Meets Contemporary Counterpart" by photographer Alex Joseph Hansen.All are welcome to attened the reception on Thursday May 23rd from 6pm-7pm, with an artist talk at 7pm.
Hansen's photographs take us on a visual journey from summit to the calving icebergs of Alaska’s greatest glaciers. In response to the mountain photography of former Boston Museum of Science director Bradford Washburn, and with undercurrents of science, climate, and art, Hansen shares a sophisticated take on glacier systems as a whole and the narrative behind our planet’s mass exodus of ice.
