IWD 2026 This years theme people are asked to encourage a mindset of generosity and collaboration and emphasise the power of reciprocity and support . The theme also highlights how, if people, organisations and communities are encouraged to give generously opportunities and support for women increase .

As you sew, Ciaran will relate stories of women in war and how their roles on the home front and the front line created a new chapter for women , often taking on the role of men’s work and creating a legacy of incredible stories , memories and inspiration.

There is work to be finished, but this is no better occasion to add a woman’s name that’s very important to you , everything on this day will be sewn in purple , various shades , so they will stand out on this work . You can add your hand sewn contrition to the main textile or just pin it in place .

You will hand sew a name or design of your choice onto a section of pre- loved linen fabric . Ciaran and her team will be there to support you all the way . We welcome women’s groups and men of all ages to join us too .

By participating in IWD 2026You will have contributed to a project that has given so much to so many people , supporting and remembering times of hardship, separation and loss through conflict.
