Join us for an exciting evening of creativity and craftsmanship in our Paperweight Workshop at UrbanGlass in Fort Greene!
About this Event

Glassblowing Paperweight Making:In these exciting two-hour sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to create your very own unique glass paperweight. Guided by our skilled instructors, you will learn the basics of glassblowing techniques, working with molten glass to form your designs. Each project will need to cool down overnight, and you’ll be notified when your work is ready for pick-up.

Not only will you craft beautiful glass art, but your participation also supports UrbanGlass. This series of studio experiences, Give for Glass, is a fundraiser for UrbanGlass, and we encourage you to consider making a donation along with your ticket purchase. Your contributions will help us continue offering exceptional programming and support our mission to foster creativity and community through glass art.

What to Expect:Students will create one glass paperweight of their own design. No previous experience is required, and the class is open to ages 12 and up. Materials and tools will be provided, and further preparation information is available on our Registration Info page.

Pick-up Information:Your paperweight will need to cool down overnight, so you’ll return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up your work.

We recommend registering for classes early to secure your spot! We base materials and instructor needs on student enrollment. Early registration not only guarantees your spot in class but also helps to ensure the class will run. Classes with low enrollment may be canceled within two weeks of the start date. If you have questions about the class or would like to arrange a payment plan, please contact our Registrar of Education, Ari Eshoo, at [email protected].

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass.
