A clarinettist with a beautiful soulful sound, Giulia Marro’s quartet plays music with swing and blues at the forefront, as well as big influences legendary clarinet players Jimmy Giuffre and Barney Bigard, the sounds of whom come through strongly in Giulia’s wonderful playing. Her debut album released in March, is an utter delight from start to finish, mixing original music with songs they love, the band also featuring two fine rhythm section players, Tom Ward (piano) and Ben Love (double bass), alongside guitarist Alex ‘Honey’ Boulton, who’s gained international recognition playing with Joe Webb, Giacomo Smith & many others.
