General Information:

1. Fact: “Girthiness” is as common and prevalent as lameness is in ridden or driven equid species. This simple clinical sign is exhibited by the equid species as a negative behavior; however, it is a positive reaction indicating that pain and discomfort are present. It is a multifactorial clinical sign that has not been directly correlated as a cause of acute and chronic lameness affecting performance in equid species.

2. Fact: Equipment lameness is simply lameness caused by any equipment that is put on equid species. So, how do you know if the equipment is causing lameness? Come learn how to diagnose, treat, and problem-solve this form of lameness versus asking the trainer/owner to have a saddle/harness fitter come check the equipment.

3. Question: How many times in practice has the owner or trainer stated that the horse: “will not go forward,” “bulges its shoulder one direction,” “hops into transitions,” “high-lows,” “throws its neck to one side,” “has no headset,” “cannot mount,” “rears or bolts suddenly under saddle,” “rough or breaks in the corners,” “not lazy on lunge line but lazy under saddle or in harness,” “throws its neck up on the backside of the jump,” “ropewalks,” “cannot move or pick up one shoulder,” “heavy on the right (or left) rein,” “spins great one direction but not the other,” “blows up when tightening the girth,” “fussy when the saddle comes out,” “had the saddle fitter out four times, says it fits, but he/she is still girthy and hates to be tacked up”?

4. Fact: The list is long and endless of horses with the clinical signs of “girthiness” and equipment lameness that are “UN”:

a. UN-Diagnosed

b. UN-Resolved

c. UN-Responsive to Treatment

d. UN-Happy Horse, Owner, Trainer

5. Fact: This seminar will give you the knowledge and confidence, along with more tools to add to your toolbox, to help your patients dealing with these everyday problems seen in practice. You will learn and immediately come away with fundamental and biomechanical skills for problem solving while applying simple solutions to what was thought to be difficult and UN-solvable problems in equid species. Attendance is limited for better interactive open learning, no matter what level of experience or practice.
