Girls in Space creates an atmosphere to explore some of our brightest and most talented female musicians and what they have to offer. It’s also a time to be fully immersed in a night of dance, music, and sparkles. Dress ups are extremely encouraged and a prize goes out to best dressed. Girls In Space - Volume 2.0 features some of Ōtautahi's brightest and most exceptional stars. Luna Wysteria, Pixie Platoon, and Rosetta will all be gracing the stage for a night of extremely beautiful music and to bring you into the warm embrace of the Girls In Space stratosphere.
Luna Wysteria:
A devoted poet & singer/songwriter, Luna Wysteria’s music stems from an innate instinct to make the unbearable beautiful, to bridge the gap between suffering and healing.
Front woman of now disbanded Ōtautahi Indie band ‘Just Another June’ not long returned from her travels, brings an intimate and ethereal experience to her live performance.
Luna casts a dreamy, melancholic atmosphere, where her poetry dances through velvety melodies and her cascading vocals drape like silk over ambient guitar. Delicate and captivating, she alchemizes her achings, turning her pain into medicine.
Tenderly, she unveils all. Her raptures & her ruins an offering, to glimpse within and to find solace in one another.
Pixie Platoon:
Hot, new, pop, Indie band of your dreams - Pixie Platoon. Four Ōtauathi regulars used to gracing the stage in their own original projects, band together to write, discover, and jam out together.
Fronted by Leah Kelsey and Josette, with the incredible Amber Carly Williams on angelic vocals and groovy bass line, and the ever perfect Amy Claire, hitting the skins with true passion and ethereal class. You'll hear about love, hate, real life, emotions, potentially some thoughts also, love again probably, along with vibes straight out of your favourite roman-tasy book. Girls In Space will make their second gig EVER, and they are so excited to play their songs again with those first gig jitters shaken to the floor.
Rosetta:
Meet Rosetta, the indie pop sensation from Christchurch, New Zealand. Her music paints the world pink with its blend of dreamy melodies and heartfelt storytelling. Rosetta shares the stories of her own self-discovery navigating the twists and turns of life and love sharing her relatable stories and the stories of others around her. She seamlessly weaves together elements of indie pop and rock, creating tracks that are as sugary sweet as they are introspective and authentic.
