About this Event

Are you ready for some great Jiu Jitsu? because we are!

Girls in Gis is a community of women and girls in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that come together through donation based training events. They are hosted, instructed, and attended only by women and girls. It's our time to come together! All ages and skill levels from any academy affiliation are welcome to attend. No experience required. Our events are designed for 100% participation, but do allow chaperones to accompany underage participants as spectators.

Our events are donation based in order to provide equal opportunity to everyone. Your donations provide paid teaching opportunities for our guest instructor(s) and help to expand and make Girls in Gis programs such as our events, our leadership program and instructional training programs and our scholarships possible. If you are not able to make a donation please contact us and we will work with you so that you are able to participate.

You can also purchase a GIG t-shirt, patches and more GIG merchandise with your donation. All orders can be picked up during the event.

GIG Virginia-Arlington Guest instructors: Beatrice Jin, Jill Pierce, & Brianna Weck

Beatrice Jin is a IBJJF World, Pan, and European medalist and black belt under 2nd degree black belt Victor Ciocoiu. In 2024, she was ranked #4 lightweight brown belt in the world, with a record of 5-0 in black belt matches, before she was promoted to black belt. This August she won her first black belt championship by submission over MMA star, Angela Lee, at IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Con. Beatrice now runs a twice a week competition style women’s open mat at Kogaion Academy and teaches seven days a week.

Jill Hill is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt out of 301MMA gym in Crofton, Maryland. Jill actively competes representing the gfteam flag under Ataide Raphael. Jill fell into jiu jitsu 9 years ago when it was offered at her local gym. She currently owns and operates a gym with her husband and is committed to jiu jitsu as a lifestyle. Teaching multiple classes a week and actively competing with IBJJF, winning multiple opens with a goal of winning Master Worlds.

Jill enjoys the never ending challenges of jiu jitsu and has developed a technical and fluid open guard passing style that she is excited to share. She enjoys training with other women and supporting all women in their jiu jitsu journey, whatever that journey may look like.

Brianna Weck is a judo black and former junior competitor. She’s been on the judo mat since the age of 3 when her father first enrolled her in classes and has now been practicing judo for over 20 years. She competed at the national level as a teenager with major accomplishments during her run, winning USJF-USJA Junior National Judo champion (U52kg IJF open division, 2014) and reaching 12th in junior national rankings at the U52kg division. Brianna’s goal in judo now, is to promote the sport to as many people as possible, especially women.
