A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu event for women and girls taught by some of the best women in the sport. No experience required.
About this Event

Are you ready for some great Jiu Jitsu? because we are!

Girls in Gis is a community of women and girls in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that come together through donation based training events. They are hosted, instructed, and attended only by women and girls. It's our time to come together! All ages and skill levels from any academy affiliation are welcome to attend. No experience required. Our events are designed for 100% participation, but do allow chaperones to accompany underage participants as spectators.

Our events are donation based in order to provide equal opportunity to everyone. Your donations provide paid teaching opportunities for our guest instructor(s) and help to expand and make Girls in Gis programs such as our events, our leadership program and instructional training programs and our scholarships possible. If you are not able to make a donation please contact us and we will work with you so that you are able to participate.

You can also purchase a GIG t-shirt, patches and more GIG merchandise with your donation. All orders can be picked up during the event.

GIG Florida - Boca Raton Guest instructors: Heather Jo Clark and Ana Moceyawa

Professor Heather Jo Clark, owner/head coach of 10th Planet Boca Raton, is a long time martial artist. In her youth, she studied Shotokan Karate, but fell in love with playing D1 hockey at Saint Cloud State University. After playing professionally in Switzerland, she returned to martial arts and joined an MMA gym in Los Angeles under Roberto Piccinini. She received her 10th Planet Black Belt under Eddie Bravo.

Finding early success in the gym, Heather pursued MMA as a career which led her to Jackson/ Winkeljohn’s in Albuquerque, NM. She soon became a straw weight prospect to watch. Constantly searching for the best coaches and training partners, she moved to Las Vegas finding her home at Xtreme Couture training under Robert Follis and alongside UFC Champion Miesha Tate.

Heather was asked to take part in the UFC’s first women’s flyweight tournament on “The Ultimate Fighter”. She defeated Bec Rawlings in the finale despite having a torn ACL. She faced several more contenders in the UFC and fought in Bellator and Invicta FC before announcing her retirement in 2018.

In 2023 Heather shifted her focus to coaching Jiu-Jitsu and opened her own world class training center at 10th Planet Boca Raton.

Ana Moceyawa is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Judo from New Zealand. She was an International wrestling worlds team member. She is also a 10th Planet Purple Belt in Jiu Jitsu.

Her martial arts journey started with Judo as a child, followed by wrestling, which took her worldwide. She currently rains Jiu Jitsu under Heather Jo Clarke at 10th Planet Boca Raton.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER ONLINE. ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL BE CLOSED 3/14/26 at 3:00 PM OR ONCE WE REACH CAPACITY. WALK-INS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ONCE CAPACITY IS REACHED.

Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and all sales are final. Doors open at 1:30 pm. Please arrive early to change and get ready or come ready so we may start on time at 2:00 pm.
