Mandy Connell and Girl Friday present songs from the 60s- from singers like Malvina Reynolds, Barbara Dane, Peggy Seeger, Tia Blake, and Melanie Safka. Born of a love of vintage tunes, from blues to jazz to folk and revelling in the blend of those genres from the early folk and blues revolutions from that era, Connell and Friday bust out some harmonies based in the love of the music that first made them want to be singers.
Staged in the old world bar environment of Siobhan Dooley's famous Drunken Poet and surrounded by pictures of poets, this is the perfect place to knock back a pint or a fine whiskey. Some of the best Guinness in town is served in this beautiful narrow bar, with high tables and wooden stools in front of the stage area and lower seats and tables in the back.
The Poet does not offer reservations, so get in early to make sure you get to see the show. The poet does not have a dinner menu, but may we suggest the Korean BBQ places round the corner?
One set only from 8pm to 9pm.
You can get a tram there, it's opposite the Queen Vic Market.
