Lors de ce concert, la musique proposée entraîne les auditeurs dans une aventure sonore qui tisse ensemble l'héritage latin, l'éclat cinématographique et la sensibilité du jazz contemporain.
Puisant dans les rythmes afro-caribéens en 6/8, les boléros, le danzón cubain et le cha-cha-cha, Giovany fusionne ces traditions avec le funk, le jazz américain et le R&B.
Ses compositions s’inspirent des sonorités vibrantes de groupes comme Irakere et les Yellowjackets, ainsi que de la narration musicale de Pat Metheny. Comme saxophoniste, il puise également dans les styles de Grover Washington Jr., Michael Brecker et Bob Mintzer, façonnant une approche expressive et virtuose de l’instrument.

Ce rassemblement transforme le lancement en une véritable célébration, où l’héritage cubain rencontre l’innovation jazz internationale.

An Exclusive Vinyl Launch at PHI

Giovany Arteaga presents his new album TIMESCAPE with an intimate concert at PHI. Surrounded by six exceptional musicians, including guest artists from Miami, New York, and Toronto, Giovany invites you to discover a bold vision of contemporary Cuban jazz.

About the concert

In this upcoming concert, the music I am presenting takes listeners on a sonic adventure that weaves together Latin heritage, cinematic flair, and contemporary jazz sensibilities.

Drawing on Afro-Caribbean 6/8 rhythms, boleros, Cuban danzón, and cha-cha-chá as its rhythmic core, the music is a fusion of funk, American jazz, and R&B elements.

My compositions are influenced by the vibrant sounds of groups like Irakere and the Yellowjackets, as well as the musical storytelling of Pat Metheny. As a saxophonist, I am inspired by the styles of Grover Washington Jr., Michael Brecker, and Bob Mintzer, shaping an expressive and virtuosic approach to the instrument.

This gathering transforms the launch into a true cultural celebration, where Cuban heritage meets global jazz innovation.
