Step into a magical holiday tradition at Gingerbread Wonderland, Norway House’s beloved annual gingerbread village exhibition! From November through early January, the Joan and Walter Mondale Galleri is transformed into a festive winter wonderland filled with hundreds of gingerbread structures created by bakers of all ages and skill levels—from novice decorators to seasoned pros. Inspired by the world’s largest gingerbread city, Pepperkakebyen in Bergen, Norway, this vibrant community-curated display has become a cherished Twin Cities holiday tradition since its launch in 2015. This year’s theme, “Home is Where You Bake It,” celebrates the stories, traditions, and connections that shape how we create home. Participants are invited to design gingerbread creations reflecting family heritage, personal meaning, or imaginative interpretations of home—from cozy cabins and iconic Minnesota landmarks to pop culture scenes and whimsical designs.
Visitors can wander through the gingerbread village, marvel at artistic detail, and vote for favorites in multiple categories including Best of Minnesota, Best Classic, and Best Pop Culture. With hundreds of sugary creations brought to life by community members, every corner is packed with creativity, spirit, and holiday cheer.
Whether you’re seeking family-friendly fun, festive photo ops, or a taste of local holiday culture, Gingerbread Wonderland offers a delightful blend of community, creativity, and seasonal joy—perfect for visitors of all ages.
